The BBC International Radio has announced the 2012 Playwriting Competition.
The competition, which is organised by the BBC World Service and the British Council, creates several opportunities for fresh and professional writers of non-UK residency.
The competition is made up of two categories: firstly, the writers with English as their first language, and the second for writers with English as their second language.

The competition is open to writers above the age of 18. Scripts submitted must be a minimum of 45 pages of A4 paper and a maximum of 65 pages.
Writers can explore any theme but the drama must be a 53-minute radio play with about six characters.
Entry forms are available at the BBC World Service website or the Commonwealth Foundation website and should be submitted to: radioplay@bbc.co.uk.
Entries can also be delivered at any of the local British Council offices. The competition remains open till July 31, 2012.
